What A Weekend For Michigan Sports

Sitting at the office all week; there was one thing that I was looking forward to this weekend, and that one thing was Michigan sports. On Saturday I woke up, sat on the couch with some food, and settled in for a good old classic Michigan vs. Ohio State football matchup. The maize and blue set out on a mission to pull the upset giving them the possibility of sharing a piece of their third straight big ten championship. However, as a result of bad clock management in the fourth quarter, they fell defeated by five points. Though I am dissapointed with the outcome of my wolverines this year, I am looking forward to next year. This Michigan team will be returning their starting quarterback, halfback, and many of their best wide receivers. I look for michigan to go undefeated next year, and to take the big ten title. After my wolverines fell Michigan State fell to Penn State, the Pistons lost their first game of the season, the Red Wings lost, and the Lions lost. Here are my predictions regarding these teams. Michigan State is going to fire John L Smith for producing yet another losing bowless year of Michigan State football. With Smith out there will be an open head coach position at MSU, thus bringing the Lions into the picture. This has been Steve Mariucci's third and worst year as the Detroit Lions head coach. With little production from what should be a potent offense, it is time to say goodbye to Mariucci. Now, we all know that Steve Mariucci and Tom Izzo are just the best of friends, and with this soon to be open head coach job at MSU...well I hate to speculate but I think we may be seeing childhood friends Izzo, and Mariucci ruling the spotlight of Michigan State sports. As for the Pistons and the Red Wings; I am somewhat happy the Pistons finally lost a game because now they don't have to keep the pressure of staying perfect on their shoulders, and they can finally concentrate on getting back to the finals for a third year straight. And the Red Wings, they will be fine and will have a good year as usual, and I will watch maybe five games out of the season. What a weekend this was, and oh how Michigan sports will look different one year from today.

Alas, I cried saturday as espn.com refreshed and I saw that Michigan had been beaten. That's how a Michigan fan watches the games in Indianapolis. Don't get to carried away bragging about Michigan sports though, Indy ain't doin so bad either. I hear our minor league hockey team is superb.

Why does John L. Smith always flash a feces eating grin after each screw-up?
